Description
DDC has received the following two (2) questions from contractors concerning the requirement for Audio-Visual Teleconference systems at DDAA. Answers to these questions are included below. The Scope of Work will not be revised. The amended Scope of Work posted to FedBizOpps by Amendment No. 3 dated 08/27/07 remains applicable for this requirement. The closing date for receipt of proposals remains as September 5, 2007. Question Within the description of the room environment for the Commander's Conference Room there is no detail on the floor construction. When considering the preferred usage of table top microphones for more direct pickup as well as control panel and notebook interface and all the required wiring what is the provision or thought for modifying the room to allow for the cable runs to the table? Is there the availability to core drill up from a lower floor level? Is the room being totally renovated and would allow for channeling out of the floor from the table to the wall location? We typically prefer not to use an excess of "trip strip" cable covering because of the liability, durability and aesthetic reasons. Utilizing cable umbilical loops to run notebook and control panel locations also has the same drawbacks as using the "trip strips". Answer The floor is a raised concrete slab, about 3-4 feet above ground. There is a crawl space in between, so core drilling can be done. The Commander's conference room is not being renovated, but the training room is (primarily new carpet and paint). We do not plan to replace the carpet in the Commander's conference room, so we don't know if channeling out the floor is a good possibility. Question With regards to the "Optional" (2x) 42" Flat Panels requested for the Training Room: Are these to display the same image as the Projector for wider viewing availability or will they be required to display individual images separate from the Projector? The reason is that if they are to be independent it necessitates a shift in the capabilities of the signal switcher to a more advanced unit to accomplish these goals versus just displaying the same image on (3) displays. Answer They are to display the same information as the projector.
