- COMMERCIAL ITEM. SOLICITATION WILL BE POSTED ON APPROXIMATELY MAY 24, 2007. COMPLETE SCOPE AND SPECIFICATION OF THIS PROJECT WILL BE IN THE SOLICITATION. SCOPE OF CONTRACT: The purpose of this solicitation is to procure the services of one fully maintained track style carrier vehicle with attached rotary disk masticator with operator, and protective shield for the mastication attachment. This includes furnishing labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals. The objectives are to: Masticate all brush over 18 inches in height down to within 6 inches of ground level, while leaving surface vegetation intact as much as possible and minimizing surface soil disturbance, to release the existing trees and reduce fuels for wildfire. PROJECT LOCATION: The Star Mastication Project Unit 1 is located approximate 14 miles Northwest of Idaho City. Travel approximately 15 miles north on Forest Service Road 307 from Idaho City to the intersection of Forest Service Road 307 and Forest Service Road 374. The legal location of Star Mastication Unit 1 is: T7N. R4E, South end of Section 32. Unit is flagged in Blue. ESTIMATED START DATE: July 01, 2007, with completion by November 01, 2007. NAICS code: 115310. Size Standard: $6.5 Million. See numbered note #1. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (21-MAY-2007).
