- Description
- The Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is seeking proposals for news distribution services. The anticipated contract period of performance will be for a one-year base period with four one-year option periods. The Government will be requesting a written request for quotations. We anticipate awarding a fixed-priced contract with an anticipated award date of August 2, 2007. The due date for all proposals will be August 2, 2007 @ 10:00 am EST. The work completed shall: (1) Increase the visibility of the Agency?s food safety education messages and the USDA?s Meat and Poultry Hotline among U.S. based journalists; (2) Electronically distribute an unlimited number of news items to U.S. journalists with the option of targeting food and health writers and editors, or targeting reporters in specific geographic locations. FSIS should also have the option of targeting ethnic media organizations when a public health issue arises and impacts a certain ethnic community; (3) Allow FSIS to distribute a limited number of photos and feature articles to photo editors and feature editors; (4) Track any news coverage FSIS receives as a result of sending a news items out to the media; and (4) Allow for the distribution of feature length articles on holiday/seasonal food safety issues. The solicitation will be available in FedBzOpps on July 18, 2007. The final award decision will be based upon an evaluation of technical, price and past performance. This solicitation will be issued as a small business set-aside with full and open competition. The NAIC Code is 519110 with a small business standard of $6.5M.
