Description
NAICS Code: 334516 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Beckman Counter, Inc., 200 South Kraemer Blvd., Brea, CA 92821 for the acquisition of Multisizer III(3), software, hardware, cables, start-up kit, installation and training , one year warranty and a extended service contract. The Multisizer III(3) Coulter Counter accurately analyze particles from 0.4 um to 1200 um at temperatures ranging from 5C to 40C. in addition, due to limited benchtop space, the unit is 17"W x25"D x17"H, measurement are equivalent to current unit being replaced. Replacement of the Multisizer II(2) with the Multisizer III(3) important so that historical data collected with the Multisizer II (2) would be consistent with new data. This is essential due to the fact that the laboratory's research objectives is to include previous studies in new models for determining the toxicity of mixtures. The Multisizer III(3) is the only machine that is capable of matching the specifications of the Multisizer II(2).The Multisizer III(3) Beckman Coulter Counter system is only sold by Beckman Coulter, Inc. In order to ensure data compatibility and accuracy the circumstance permitting is FAR 13.106(B) "only one source reasonably available". The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist, and therefore, no solicitation (RFQ) is available. Consequently, any response failing to provided the aforementioned data and instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFQ will be ignored. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties who can meet the above requirements may submit written qualification statements, fully explaining their capability no later than 10 days after the date of this publication.
