- Amendment 002 to Combined Synopsis/Solicitation and Amendment 001 for a Hexapod Environmental Chamber, 1 Each. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The following information is provided in response to technical questions and are added to the Minimum Government requirements: (20) The maximum test load weight in the chamber is estimated at 1,000 pounds and test samples are usually steel and preconditioned to desired temperature prior to testing. (21) Test loads should not dissipate any heat during actual testing due to preconditioning of samples. (22) The 2 degree F/minute ramp rate is over the entire temperature range o f -80F to +250F and will be the average over this temperature range. (23) Mechanical refrigeration is required and not liquid nitrogen or carbon dioxide. (24) A cooling tower is available for the mechanical refrigeration cooling. (25) The chamber needs to be on rollers or casters to clear the top of the vibration table that is 7 inches above the floor. (26) The manufacturer of the vibration system in place is Moog/FCS which is a six degrees of freedom table (i.e., 6 hydraulic cylinders. (27) The chamber can be manually or mechanically moved. (28) Attachment 001 is provided for information purposes only in support of installation. Attachment 002 are photos of the in place vibration system and provided for information purposes only in support of installation. Attachment 002 is pending release for posting by 2007SEP05. Attachment 002 may or may not be released for posting and shall not affect the date and time that quotes are due, and as stated herein. Attachments 001 and 002 may be viewed at Rock Island Sol icitation Information Page, Draft Solicitations/Specifications/Scopes of Work at https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. Minimum Requirements are specified within the CSS and its amendments as stated. Prospective offerrors may elect to submit an offer for one or more machines as deemed necessary. Date and time of receipt of Quotes is extended and are due not later than 11:00AM DST on 2007SEP06.
