- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to make a single award to a responsible quoter for the provision of Medical Records Copy Services at the Federal Medical Center located in Lexington, Kentucky 40511. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561439 (Size Standard: $6.5 million). The contractor shall have a broad knowledge of standard medical record content and filling systems, as well as HIPPA and FOIA laws. The contractor shall also have sufficient computer experience to use simple database programs, such as Word Perfect and other common office software. After training, the contractor will be required to retrieve information from the Bureau of Prisons electronic medical software. Furthermore, the contractor will receive requests for medical records from a variety of sources and the contractor will verify the validity of these requests and comply with all laws regarding the release of medical information including the Freedom of Information, Privacy Act and HIPPA. Upon receipt of a valid request the Contractor will make copies for distribution and or mailing. It is estimated that the contractor will perform 1500 one (1) hour sessions per year. A session is defined as one (1) hour and the sessions will be conducted between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. The contract period will consist of a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods for renewal. The solicitation will be available on or about September 14, 2007, and will be distributed solely through the website at ww.fedbizopps.gov. All future information concerning the acquisition, including solicitation amendments will be distributed through the website. The anticipated receipt of quotes is October 15, 2007. The solicitation is restricted to small business sources. All responsible small business sources may submit a quotation which will be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contract for which they are eligible. Please note: all contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov.
