Description
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to procure a battery analyzer and reconditioner system from Valesco Battery Support Systems, 7058 Farrell Rd, Calgary, Canada. This system will allow the re-use of thousands of batteries that would otherwise be disposed of. The system includes two adapters - NTN8610 and NTN4595 as well as racks and chassis. The system shall have the following characteristics: The system shall: Maintain an inventory log and track new battery inventory, Conduct failure analysis on batteries, Recondition batteries, Condition new batteries, Process as a minimum; 128 batteries simultaneously in any combination of chemistry (i.e. Ni-cad, Li-Ion, SLA, SMBUS, and Ni-MH), Contain two 63 +/- 1.0 inch floor rack cabinets with side panels and castors, Contain one desktop rack with side panels, Download and retain battery information and condition, Allow for programmable high temperature limit and allow for a cooling period between cycles, Process as a minimum 4000 mAmphour NI-MH batteries, Include a Main Control Unit (MCU) with a sheet metal chassis, Bar Code Reader, LCD touch screen display, and controller software, Contain one thermal label printer, and have a warranty period with be no less than one year on all parts and repair labor. CBP intends to solicit only one source under the provisions of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for for competitive proposals and no formal solicitation package is available. No award will be made on the basis of any other information received in response to this notice, as this is a notice of CBP's intent to acquire supplies and not a request for proposal(s). The government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in the preparation of this announcement. See numbered note 22.
