- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Business Management Division intends to add a one-year option period, in the amount of $30,017.00, to Purchase Order DE-AF01-05IM00122 with Reuters America LLC, of Norristown, Pennsylvania. This action is for upgraded software access entitled, ???Reuters Trader for Commodities (RTC C&E) Services??? for the period October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008. The initial award date was July 21, 2005. The extension will increase the current Purchase Order Amount from $75,890.00 to $105,907.00. The services being acquired will allow DOE authorized users to access real-time and historical data on energy via international news sources, detailed real-time and historical pricing from commodities and energy futures exchanges world-wide, backed up by real-time and historical data on cash prices. In addition, the subscription service will allow DOE users access to global/regional energy company equity prices and details, along with Metals and agri-markets data. This one-year option period is necessary because these services are available only from Reuter???s America LLC and no other type for services are known to be available that will meet the needs of the DOE who needs to be informed and have an accurate and current/real-time overview of the national and international energy situation. This existing knowledge and experience capability is critical to the mission of the Office of Deputy Secretary for International Energy Policy and Energy Information Administration.
