Description
This synopsis provides notice of the Government's intent to solicit a proposal on a sole source basis with Trompeter Electronics, Inc., 5550 East McDowell Road, Mesa, AZ 85215-9698. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Trompeter Electronics, Inc., is the only known source capable of satisfying the Government's minimum requirement The contract type is anticipated to be a Firm Fixed Price type contract in accordance with FAR Part 15. The Contract Line Item Numbers and descriptions are: CLIN 0001 - P/N 155-1157-1 TCTCIII Cable Set (14 each) to include shipping if any. This project requires patch connections and cable assemblies that need to be compatible with those used in currently fielded systems. The patch assemblies allow access to signals from essential communications equipment within the currently fielded systems (such as trunk encryption devices and a global positioning system timing receiver) for signal routing and troubleshooting. Continued procurement of these patch connections and cable assemblies are required to maintain the configuration management (CM), interchangeability, interoperability, and logistical footprint of fielded systems. Any deviation from the current infrastructure could jeopardize current operations. Without these cable assemblies and patch panels, the module components could not operate efficiently, thus hindering restoration of network connectivity in the case of a communications failure. This could create separation between military assets, hindering the military's ability to execute their mission. The purchase of any other cable assemblies and patch panels would result in a duplication of costs to the government to modify the current design, recreate baseline drawings, testing and validation costs, operator and maintenance training costs, in addition to the logistical costs of managing two different systems. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, responsible interested parties may submit a proposal in which they identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider all information received by 13 September 2007, 1530 EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any information received. Facsimile proposals are acceptable.
