Description
SOURCES SOUGHT for a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) to perform the following: Task A) - Battleminded Transition Office (BTO) at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) and Task B)  Professional research support/consultati on to the Department of Behavioral Biology, WRAIR in the areas of cognitive research and mathematical model development. Task A is to establish the BTO in support of the Army Global War on Terrorism (GWOT). The BTO will be the lead agent in transitioning battlemind training to the field in order to support Soldier and Family behavioral health issues across the deployment cycle. BTO will be responsible for the development and/or release of pre-deployment Battlemind, psychological debriefing procedures, sp ouse/couples Battlemind, Post-Deployment Health Reassessment and Advanced Battlemind training. The BTO will also complete post-deployment Battlemind research and the release of these results to the appropriate agencies. Personnel minimum requirements for Task A are for two Mental Health Researchers and three Mental Health Trainers with experience and knowledge of military deployments. Task B will involve formulation and design of research protocols, development of mathematical models that can be used to predict human performance on the basis of sleep duration and timing, circadian and ultradian rhythms, work/rest schedules, cognitive workload/time on task, individual differences and fatigue countermeasures in close collaboration with scientists and other staff in the Department of Behavioral Biology, WRAIR. Personnel minimum requirements for Task B is an Experimental Psychologist with two years experience in conducting/supervising research in a sleep laboratory. Task A are full time positions; Task B is anticipated as part time for only 600 hours per year. An award is to be made with One Base year and Four  One Year Options. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. PROPOSALS ARE NOT REQUESTED AT THIS T IME AND WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Any information submitted is voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted in response to this sources sought synopsis. Respondents capable of satisfying the requirements stated herein shoul d provide a narrative identifying business as applicable designator as a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business. All responses must be received by 1200 (EST) Noon, on Wednesday, 5 September 2007. Narratives should be e-mailed to Mr. Philip Huff at Phili p.Huff@det.amedd.army.mil.
