Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command is seeking information from all interested parties capable of providing "enhanced" Mine Resistant Armor Protected (MRAP) vehicle armoring solutions for existing and future MRAP vehicle platform protection against mine blasts, ballistic penetrations, Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), and Explosively Formed Projectiles (EFP). Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities by submitting a concept paper not exceeding 10 pages which identifies: 1) the general concept, 2) any unclassified, non-proprietary technical data for the material concept, 3) the capability to provide test units upon request, 4) capacity to produce and 5) industry/business points of contact ?As Soon As Possible? however, no later than 1200 on 30 November 2007. These concept papers shall be delivered via electronic mail to Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Code: PMM 154/MRAP (CDR J. Brown) at email address: jeffrey.brown@usmc.mil. Again, all information submitted must be unclassified and non-proprietary in nature. In addition, if any interested party has a current business relationship with the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) or the Office of Naval Research (ONR), they may also concurrently submit the requested information to their existing points of contact at those locations, referencing this notice. This information will be shared within Government, particularly Department of Defense agencies and may be used to gauge industry capacity and interest in this issue and received data will likely be used to craft an acquisition strategy for any follow on procurements that may arise from stated requirements for this capability. This is a request for information only and, at this time, is a not a request for a proposal of any kind." NOTE: This is the first announcement of a recurring need within the Department of Defense. It is anticipated that this announcement will be repeated on a quarterly ( 90 day) basis until the Government believes all realistic solutions have been received and reviewed.
