- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Container Research Corporation (CRC), Hollow Hill Road, Glen Riddle Lima, PA for the acquisition of up to ten (10) shipping containers for the AN/AQS-20 Electro-Optic Identification / Volume Search Sonar (EOID / VSS) Shipping Containers. This procurement is sole source for the following reasons. The shipping containers were specially designed by CRC exclusively for the AN/AQS-20A EOID/VSS. The Government does not own the technical data package for the containers nor the foam insets that would allow competition on this procurement. Initial inventory objectives were not considered sufficient to warrant procurement of a product level drawing package including unlimited rights and data. As the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), CRC is the only company with the in-house resident knowledge to accurately manufacture this critical hardware. Use of another company to provide the repair may introduce new or change existing parameters that may be detrimental to the packaging and shipping of these critical systems. Therefore it is imperative that these items are acquired from Container Research Corporation as soon as possible.
