Description
NOTICE: Only local sources will be considered under this solicitation. Local sources are sources (e.g., corporations or partnerships) that are physically located in Japan and authorized (i.e., licensed and registered) to perform work in Japan, the t ype of professional service specified in this solicitation. CONTRACT INFORMATION: Professional services is required to repair the eroded slope and to apply soil cement to the gravel road near the 6200M meter marker using low maintenance road construction techniques to prevent Red Soil run-off reaching nearby streams and ul timately the ocean. The eroded slope is located at the lowest elevation of the road where a large amount of rainwater concentrates and discharges. The distance from the lowest point to the crest of the road is about 130 meters with cross drains, and the road gradient is about 11 %. This topographic condition combined with the gravel road material inevitably causes erosion at the lowest point of the roads as well as the lower half of the road. The heavily eroded slope will be stabilized with soil nailing , and a 220 meter stretch of the road will be improved with soil cement, out sloping and cross drains. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. W912HV-07-T-0028 will be available on 29 August 2007 and quotes are due 11 Sep 2007 and not later than 1500 hours Jap an Standard Time to Procurement Branch, Contracting Division, Attn: Perl Cadawan.
