Description
NOTE: THIS IS A MODIFICATION FOR THE PREVIOUS POSTING --- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Fogarty International Center (FIC) intends to procure services to analyze data to explore spatial and temporal relationships between respiratory infections across the U.S. and determine relative burden of respiratory pathogens, in particular influenza and RSV from Corinne M. Ringholz, Rochester, NY. Ms. Ringholz is continuing her dissertation research and it will be framed around the present project that is being conducted at FIC. The Institute intends to purchase these services by other than full and open competition under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302. Ms. Ringholz will be responsible for data collection, data analysis and generation of draft manuscript related to the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP). This project uses state-based hospital discharge (SID) databases from AHRQ to study the temporal-spatial relationship between incidence of hospital admission for viral and bacterial respiratory pathogens in the U.S. The hospitalization data will be compared with surveillance data fro specific pathogens from the CDC and State Health Departments. Mathematical modeling and statistical packages will be used to investigate the relationships to the level of zip code, by several age groups and by calendar weeks. Time series methods will be used to look for interactions and synchronicity between pairs of respiratory pathogens. This is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. However, if any other interested party believes that it can meet the requirements it may request a copy of the Request for Quotation. Offerors may request a copy of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice.
