The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), has a requirement for dockside repairs to be performed at NOAA Marine Operations Center Atlantic in Norfolk, VA. The performance period will be 49 calendar days with a start date on or about November 20, 2007 and ending on or about January 8, 2008. This acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the NOAA Ship HENRY B. BIGELOW, a 209 foot, 49.2 ft beam (molded); propulsion is single screw, cruising speed 14 knots; crew size of 39. Vessel's homeport is Woods Hole, MA. DOCKSIDE BASIC ITEMS include: Steam Table Sneeze Shield Installation (GFM), Ships Service Compressed Air Dryer Installation, Incinerator Fuel System Modifications, Fuel Lighterage System Installation, Chilled Water Expansion Tank Installation, Fuel Oil Tank Level Indicators Installation, Fuel Overflow Detector Installation, Gilson Winch Fair Lead Fabrication, Exterior Ladder Non-skid Installation, Intake Vent Modification, Anchor Chain Modification, Standing Water Prevention - 01 Deck Modifications, Deck Drain Installation - Flying Bridge, Spray Shield Separator Installation in MSD Room, Marine Sanitation Device (MSD) Vent Modifications, Oily Waste/Waste Oil Piping Modifications, Space Heater Installation - Ready Room, Space Heater Installation - Trawl Room, Space Heater Installation - Incinerator Room, Filter Panel Installation ? Arrangements for inspections can be made by contacting Jim Stricker at 757-441-6717. Copies of the solicitation will only be posted on FEDBIZOPPS. This posting will appear on or about August 1, 2007. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract using sealed-bid (IFB) procedures in FAR Part 14. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency.
