Description
The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences is conducting a sources sought synopsis to locate Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) capable of providing turn-key project support for the Colateral Equipment and outfitting of the USUHS Graduate School of Nursing. This building is scheduled to be completed in April 2008. The requirement would include but not be limited to Purchase, coordinate delivery, storage and installation of all furniture, Coordinate the physical move of equipment, office and classroom equipment and personnel from our leased space in Silver Spring, MD to our newly constructed building in Bethesda, MD Relocate, re-install and test used equipment; install and test all new office and medical equipment in new location. Provide packers, movers, transportation and dumpsters. Provide Technical expertise for all AV equipment Provide full time project manager As the uniformed services medical school, certain standards and expectations for key personnel are required including: 1. Must be a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small buisness. 2. Must have extensive project management (PM) knowledge and experience managing Collateral Equipment and Comprehesive Interior Design (CID) projects. (Department of Defense (DoD) experience desired.) 3. Must be fully knowledgable in FAR and DFAR regulations for purchases of furniture, equipment and services and the use of GSA contracts. (applying Labor standards when required) 4. Experience overseeing turn-key projects for CID and CE packages. 5. Minimum 10 years experience working with medical planners. (Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) facilties standards is desired.) 6. Prior PM experience including work with academic institutions, specifically medical training institutions. 7. Provide on-site presence of PM in Bethesda, MD. 8. Experience with turn-over of NAVFAC construction, safety requirements, and military medical facilities desired. 9. Demonstrated ability to coordinate efforts with general contractors for the installation of all furniture and furnishings. 10. Demonstrated competency in the development of equipment re-utilization and the proper installation of existing furniture/furnishings and equipment into new CE and CID. 11. Demonstrate working knowledge of Life Safety Codes and Environment of Care, as related to medical treatment facilities. 12. Demonstrate skill in communicating in non-technical language with medical and academic personnel, to provide needed information in a tactful manner. 13. Demonstrate ability to solve problems of schedule delays, difficult future occupants, and make it all look effortless. Interested organizations must demonstrate and document in any capability statements submitted extensive experiences with and the ability to perform the above tasks. Organizations should demonstrate capability to administer and coordinate interrelated tasks in an effective and timely manner. Documentation may include Government and commercial contracts, providing references (with names, telephone numbers, and email address) and any other information serving to document the organization?s capability.
