- THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION ISSUANCE BUT RATHER, NOTIFICATION OF AN INDUSTRY BRIEFING As part of the Navy's continuing Open Architecture (OA) efforts increased opportunities for competition are being considered for FY08-FY13 Surface Navy Combat System upgrades required to support capability enhancements. Opportunities being examined include component competition in support of the introduction of the Single Integrated Air Picture (SIAP), Common Hardware Design and the introduction of new limited scope warfighting enhancements through Rapid Capability Insertion Program (RCIP). This approach will also be considered for other future Surface Navy Platform Combat System requirements inclusive of Aegis. The Industry Day is planned for the fall of 2007 and will outline the opportunities for competition with an overview of the technical details of these requirements. Interested parties should continue to monitor the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBiz Opps) Website for detailed information on Industry Day regarding the specific date, time, and location in a forth coming announcement. A previous posting on 9 July 2007 first mentioned this Industry Day under the solicitation number N0002407R5108.
