- Amendment A001: To meet the requirements of FAR 11.105 and 5.102(a)(6) for the purchase of items peculiar to one manufacturer, the following justification is provided: The V-Ring Sling has been specifically designed for helicopter hoist hooks utilizing hardware and drawings proprietary to the original equipment manufacturer, Lifesaving Systems Corp. Market research did not produce an equivalent. The V-Ring sling is used by other agencies where it has passed testing and evaluation for safe interface with current hoist hook configurations. No other manufacturers are known to be available who can or has manufacturing authority to produce the V-Ring type sling.
