- The FDA intends to award Sole Source procurement to VWR International Inc, 405 Heron Drive, Bridgeport, NJ 08014. Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. An award will be made seven (7) calendar days from the date of this notice. JUSTIFICATION FOR SOLE SOURCE: With the issue of compatibility with Sole Source Justification ? Refrigerated Collection System/rack this is a programmable refrigerated collection system with rack and can automatically collect samples (12 tubes per cage) with time intervals of 10 seconds to 30 hours. Samples can be maintained at a temperature from +4? down to -15? C depending on the laboratory?s needs. This eliminates the need for using dry ice. The automatic collection system makes it possible to obtain samples during overnight, weekends and holidays. This system will be extremely useful for all Centers that have future metabonomic studies. This system VWR International Company will connect to the several metabolism cages previously installed by VWR International Company. Overall this will reduce compatibility issues and reduce repair and service costs for the future as well as reduction of laboratory hours buy staff. The installation will occur at FDA Life Sciences Building, 10903 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20903 NO REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of providing the required service as stated herein may submit a capability statement to document its ability to provide the required services, which will be considered if received by September 1, 2007. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This announcement does not bind the government to any particular acquisition approach. All responses or questions regarding this posting must be in writing and can be sent via email to HARRY.BRUBAKERIII@fda.hhs.gov. No phone calls will be accepted. This sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 13.
