- The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Mississippi Laboratories, located in Pascagoula, MS, intends to modify Purchase Order WC133F-07-SE-0221 for the rental of a dry storage trailer by adding four additional 12 month option periods which will extend the period of performance through September 30, 2011 with Transport International Pool, Inc., Wayne, PA based on the following reasons 1) The NMFS Mississippi Laboratories were demolished when hurricane Katrinia struck Pascagoula, MS in August of 2005. NMFS acquired this trailer through competitive bid and has been utilizing this dry storage trailer to store documents and salvageable equipment while a new building is being constructed; 2) The existing Purchase Order was awarded from a competitive bid, but only allowed for occupation through September 30, 2007 and now the extension of the existing rental agreement is essential while a new building is being constructed; 3) The cost to vacate this trailer, move it off the property, procure a new trailer, move it onto the property, would be more costly to the Government then extending the lease through the addition of option periods; 4) This extension of this lease on the dry storage trailer is critical to NMFS Mississippi Laboratories operations in Pascagoula, MS. The Government plans to negotiate with Transport International Pool, Inc for the continued rental of the dry storage trailer currently in its possession and onsite in Pascagoula, MS.
