- The above referenced solicitation is hereby amended to respond to a technical question submitted. The due date for quotations, August 27, 2007, at 3:30 PM, remains unchanged. QUESTION: I am requesting if NIST will accept Class 10000 for the packaging requirement eeded for this AFM solicitation? RESPONSE: The tool itself must be built so it can be located and operated in a Class 100 Clean Room. The packaging must simply ensure that the tool remains clean during shipping/storage. The tool is typically shrink-wrapped in two or more layers. The outer layer is taken off in regular space, the tool is then brought in Class 1000 space where the inner layer is peeled off. After wipe down, the tool is brought into Class 100 space.
