- The US Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina has a Brand Name requirement for the purchase and delivery of Tumbleweed Mailgate items and one (1) Gold Maintenance and Support Plan. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solicitation number H92239-07-T-0055 is issued as a Request for Quotation, under simplified acquisition procedures. The NAICS code is 443120. The size standard is $8.0 million. This requirement is 100% set aside for Small Business. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-18. It is the Contractor's responsibility to be familiar with all applicable clauses and provisions. Full text clauses and provisions are available at farsite.hill.af.mil. REQUIREMENT: As stated this is a Brand Name Justification and items are essential to the Government?s requirements, thereby precluding consideration of a product manufactured by another company. USASOC employs the Tumbleweed Desktop Validator for certificate validation. The Tumbleweed MailGate is the only product on the market that provides a seamless interface with the Validator without incurring additonal expenses for integration and configuration. Utilizing a single manufacturer will eliminate the potential for disagreements between contractors on whose product is at fault should system failure or configuration problems arise. The contractor shall provide the following items: ? Mailgate Gateway Processers 2 each PN MGA-LA-C-999999-XX-X ? Mailgate Edge Module Processors 2 each PN MGE-LA-C-999999-XX-X ? Mailgate Policy Manager Module Processors 2 each PN CFL-LA-C-999999-XX-X ? Mailgate Appliance ? MG 3650 2 each PN MGA-LA-E-999999-XX-X ? Gold Maintenance and Support Plan for 3 years 1 each Gold Support package shall be 14x5 providing telephone, email and web support fourteen (14) hours a day, five (5) days a week, excluding holidays. BRAND NAME: Items called for by this request for quotation have been identified by a brand name only description. Such identification is intended to be descriptive and restrictive to indicate the quality and characteristics of products that will be satisfactory. QUOTES SHALL INCLUDE: (1) letter signed by an individual authorized to bind the organization, with a schedule of offered items to include unit and total price and one copy of proposal with the brand name items offered and descriptions, (2) completed Representations and Certifications, and (3) acknowledgement of any amendments that may be issued. Questions must be submitted in writing and emailed to the Contracting Officer not later than 29 August 2007. Telephonic questions pertaining to this solicitation will not be answered. All answers will be provided via an amendment to the solicitation. Any amendments that may be issued will be published electronically the same as this combined synopsis/solicitation.
