Description: U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Acquisition Center, Edgewood Contracting Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21010-5424 intends to solicit on a sole source basis, a firm-fixed price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Qu antity contract (IDIQ) with Smiths Detection, Edgewood, Maryland. The requirement calls for the procurement of up to 5362 ea. M22 ACADAs; 886 M88 Chemical Agent Detectors; 438 TIC-As; 100 24/7s; 40 Model Ds; 478 M28s; and associated ACADA spare parts; on an other than full and open competition basis. This effort is being solicitated from Smiths Detection pursuant to 10 USC 2304(c)(1). Only One Responsible Source and no other supplies or services will immediately satisfy agency requirements, as implemente d by FAR 6.302-1. Notes 22. Smiths Detection is the only responsible source with access to the proprietary data to the basic M22 ACADA and related equipment described above such as the Technical Data Package (TDP) and Technical Manuals above the direct su pport level. Smiths Detection is the only source capable of satisfactorily performing the effort required within required timeframes. The period of performance for the proposed contract is approximately 1 December 2007 to 31 December 2008.
