- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Digestive, Diabetes & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to procure Basic Client subscriptions with the Substructure Search Module (SSM) access using the Scifinder database on an annual basis from the American Chemical Society, 2540 Olentangy River Road, Columbia, Ohio, 4321. The Institute intends to procure this system by other than full and open competition under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302. Scifinder is a proprietary database only available through Chemical Abstract service, which is a division of the American Chemical Society. This service allows rapid searching of published chemical structures and reactions that greatly enhances the efficiency with which research in organic chemistry can be carried out. The database does not overlap with any other databases and is a very important tool to have for the organic chemist in the Laboratory of Bioorganic Chemistry. This is not a solicitation for competitive proposals, however, all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. The determination to compete or not compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-07-379 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Boulevard, Two Democracy Plaza, Room 765C, Bethesda, MD 20817 ATTN: Tina Robinson or via email:robinsti@mail.nih.gov or fax 301-480-4226. FAX quotations must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative. All requests for quotation must include a valid email address. Collect calls will not be accepted. PLEASE NOTE: In order to receive an award, contractor must be registered and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) www.ccr.gov
