Description
In response to Presolicitation Notice No. 000HCCBC-2007-43670 entitled, Light Element X-Ray Florescence Analyzer? published in FedBizOpps on June 14, 2007, the government received information from additional source(s) indicating that additional instruments besides the one referenced in the announcement are available and meet the Government?s requirements. The Government has reviewed the information submitted in response to the aforestated announcement and has determined that additional small business sources do exist that are capable of providing equipment that would meet the Government?s needs. Therefore, a competitive small business set-aside procurement will be conducted. Consequently, the previously published Notice of Intent to Negotiate with a Sole-Source is cancelled, and this notice serves as a Presolicitation Notice announcing Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. 000HCCBC-2007-43670 to be issued on or after September 6, 2007. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) will issue a Request For Quote for a hand held XRF analysis portable X-ray Fluorescence instrument that is capable of analyzing and quantifying low elemental weight materials. The instrument required needs to be unique in the way in which the geometry of the detector is placed in relationship to the window and use of vacuum in the window are to lower the sensitive to enable measurement of silica. The instrument must allow the user full control over all the parameters necessary to do sensitivity optimization including the use of user designed filters and secondary targets. The instrument offers a proven vacuum system to give you the maximum sensitivity to the low mass elements such as Mg through Ca. Also offers with the following elements, miniaturized and light weight x-ray. Light Element X-ray Florescence Analyzer - quick and easy qualitative analysis and chemistry data, handheld XRF analyzer, spectral analysis through its Windows CE based analysis software, identify the elements in a sample matrix in extremely low part-per-million concentrations, Instrument offers a full scale laboratory XRF analysis PC BASED CODE and the detector can be placed less than 5 mm from the sample. This procurement is a small business set-aside in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures. All vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to award of a federal contract. Vendors may register at www.ccr.gov.
