- The Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to issue a solicitation for a fixed price commercial item contract to provide support to the Secretariat for the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission Joint Technical Committee 1 on Information Technology, Subcommittee 37 ISO/IEC JTC1/SC37) on Biometrics and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 37 Working Group 4 on Biometrics Functional Architecture and Related Profiles in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 813910 with a size standard of $6.5M. This acquisition will include a base period of twelve months and four twelve month option periods. Solicitation and Offers: The solicitation will be issued on or about August 27, 2007 via the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) web site at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation number will be SB1341-07-RQ-0048; hard copies will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FedBizOpps site for RFP release and all subsequent amendments. Proposals/Offers shall be submitted in accordancewith the guidelines outlined in the solicitation document. Contractor must have a valid DUNS number and be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database, with an active status, to be eligible for award. Any contract award resulting from this solicitation will be made to the responsible vendor whose conformance to the RFP will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered.
