- This notice is issued by the NASA/GSFC to post a Request for Information (RFI) via the internet, and solicit responses from interested parties. This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition. Prospective offerors are invited to submit written comments or questions to: Sherika D. Wilson, no later than September 6, 2007. When responding reference NNG07214585R. NASA/GSFC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for Diode Laser bars (Semiconductor wafers that must be grown and tested to yield 1700 usable bars). NASA/GSFC is looking to purchase a minimum of 1700 diode laser bars that must comply with the specifications and conditions attached(Please see attached specifications). Comments may be forwarded to Sherika D. Wilson via electronic transmission or by facsimile transmission. This RFI is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response. Respondents will not be notified of the results. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The RFI and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/GSFC Business Opportunities home page is http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=51 . It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet cite for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments, if any. Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs linked below. Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized capabilities to meet the Diode Laser specifications should submit an electronic copy of their capabilities. Interested offerors/vendors responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; ownership; whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years in business; and point of contact - address and phone number).
