Description
The ITEC4 anticipates the issuance of a Draft Request for Proposals (RFP) W91QUZ-07-R-0028 for commercial Passive Radio Frequency Identification (pRFID) Electronic Product Code-1 (EPC) EPC global Class 1 and 2, Generation 2 (Gen 2), compliant product s and services to support the Department of Defense (DoD), the United States Coast Guard (CG), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Coalition Partners, other Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and authorized Federal Agencies. The pRFID acquisition is to provide a state-of-the-art, common, integrated structure for logistic identification, tracking, locating, and monitoring of commodities and assets. Passive RFID EPC Class 1 and 2, Gen 2, components are those commercial products necessary for Passive Radi o Frequency Identification, the tracking of tagged commodities and assets, data collection, keyless data entry, data processing, data storage, and retrieval. In addition, data collection, storage information, retrieval methods, information processing, and transmission of Tag data will greatly enhance systems within the DoD. Passive RFID EPC, Class 1 and 2, Gen 2, technology will provide standardization and interoperability amongst Government User of Passive RFID EPC components purchased from this Contract . Commercially available Passive RFID EPC Class 1 and 2, Gen 2, communications hardware, software, technical engineering services, documentation, training, warranty service, and maintenance, to provide a common, integrated structure for logistics tracking , locating, and monitoring of assets for Users. Turnkey solutions integrating existing AIT and RFID with Passive technology will also be provided under Technical Engineering Services (TES) to ensure the users have the capabilities to integrate technologie s to accomplish a transparent solution. The Government is contemplating multiple indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) firm-fixed-price contracts in accordance with FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items. The Government anticipates that th e acquisition will result in up to five awards, with up to three of the awards reserved for small businesses. The Government anticipates the release date for the draft RFP to the Army Single Face to Industry site https://abop.monmouth.army.mil/ on or abou t 24 August 2007 with questions/comments regarding the solicitation due approximately 14 days after issuance.
