- Description
- Military Sealift Command (MSC) requires a contractor to perform a Spectral Fatigue Analysis on the Hull Structure of the USNS OBSERVATION ISLAND (T-AGM 23). The contractor will prepare a Global Hydrodynamic Hull Model and conduct a Motions Analysis to estimate Response Amplitude Operators (RAOs) of the vessel responses and hydrodynamic and inertial load effects. After the Motions Analysis, prepare a Global Hull FEA Model and finer Intermediate and Local Mesh Models and conduct stress analyses to determine both Stress RAOs and areas of high stress. Conduct a Spectral Fatigue Analysis on six local models selected based on a particular structural detail's susceptibility to fatigue damage The contractor will prepare a comprehensive SFA report and an Inspection Guide identifying areas of high stress and areas susceptible to fatigue failure.
