- COMMERCIAL ITEM. SOLICITATION WILL BE POSTED ON APPROXIMATELY AUGUST 20, 2007. COMPLETE SCOPE AND SPECIFICATION OF THIS PROJECT WILL BE IN THE SOLICITATION. SCOPE OF CONTRACT: The purpose of this solicitation is for the mastication of brush. The solicitation will contain the requirements for the vehicle(s) used for the mastication. The objectives are to: Masticate all brush over 18 inches in height down to within 6 inches of ground level, while leaving surface vegetation intact as much as possible and minimizing surface soil disturbance, to release the existing trees and reduce fuels for wildfire. This includes furnishing labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals. PROJECT LOCATION: The STAR BRUSH MASTICATION Project is located approximate 14 miles Northwest of Idaho City. Travel approximately 15 miles north on Forest Service Road 307 from Idaho City to the intersection of Forest Service Road 307 and Forest Service Road 374. The legal location of Star Mastication Unit 2 is: T7N. R4E, Middle of Section 32. Unit is flagged in Blue. The ALDER FUELBREAK Units are located approximate 3 miles North of Placerville. Travel approximately 10 miles north on Forest Service Road 307 from Idaho City to the intersection of Forest Service Road 307 and Forest Service Road 615. Travel approximately 4 miles north on Forest Service Road 615 to the intersection of Forest Service Road 615 and Forest Service Road 395. The units are on the Emmett side of the Idaho City and Emmett Ranger District boundary. The legal location of the Alder Fuelbreak Units is: T8N. R4E, South end of Section 36. ESTIMATED START DATE: September 30, 2007, with completion by July 15, 2008. NAICS code: 115310. Size Standard: $6.5 Million. See numbered note #1.
