Description

This synopsis provides notice of the Government’s intent to solicit a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis with Harris Corp-RF Communications Div., 1680 University Ave, Rochester, NY, 14610-1839, for the items listed below. This action is under the authority of FAR Part 13.5. The items are not commercial. The Contract Line Item Number and description is: CLIN 0001 ADVANCED MULTIBAND FALCON SYSTEM NON-COMSEC CONTROLLED ITEM RADIO, QTY 2 EA. This DRINCOM demonstration system requires a Non-COMSEC Controlled Item radio in place of the AN/PRC-117F to allow for demonstration of system capabilities. Harris Corporation RF Communications Division is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the equipment. Until system redesign occurs, these radios must meet form, fit, function, and interface the same as those previously procured to assure interoperability, interchangeability, and provide for standardization. Award is expected to be 23 Mar 2004. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all information received by 22 Mar 2004, 1530 EST. A determination by the Government not to complete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received.
