- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT ONLY. The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with GT Software, Incorporated, 235 Peachtree ST NE 1400, Atlanta, GA 30303, under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106 (b)(1) as the contracting officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract deem only one source reasonably available. The GT Software, Inc. applications- BMS/TS OS/390 are used as a map generator tool for develop all of the ICS screen maps for mission critical applications software systems. It is also used to design and test screens or large applications systems that are released to field offices and program service centers. These applications provide maps behind the applications program to scan entered data evaluate this data and respond to errors. The Vendor owns all proprietary rights to the software?s source code and is the only responsible source for maintenance. No other source can maintain the software or provide the relevant software fixes. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed purchase order for the maintenance of the above listed applications. Other organizations possessing the requisite expertise and resources are invited to submit information concerning their capabilities, expertise, and other pertinent data. Pricing data may be submitted. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. This is not a request for quotation and the Government does not intend to pay for information received. If SSA does not identify other acceptable sources capable of providing the software maintenance, SSA shall issue a sole source award under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures for the period of 10/01/2007 through 09/30/2008. Responses to this notice should be submitted by August 20, 2007. Request for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. Oral communications are NOT acceptable.
