- This is a emerging small business set aside. Requirement is for lightning protection for various buildings located at the National Black-Footed Ferret Conservation Center near Carr, Colorado (north of Fort Collins, CO). Provide all design, equipment, labor, and material required for the design and installation of lightning protection system(s) on miscellaneous existing buildings including Quarantine, Holding, Maintenance, Residence, Utility and Administration Buildings. Lightning Protection System to include air terminals on roofs, roof mounted equipment, parapets, bonding of structure and other metal objects, grounding electrodes and inter connecting electrodes. Buildings to receive Lightning Protection System: Holding Building 2050 GSF, Quarantine 1800 GSF, Administration Building 1700 GSF, Residence 1500 GSF, Maintenance 1400 GSF, Utility 500 GSF. Buildings are wood framed with standing metal seam roof(s). Contractor shall obtain services of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. to provide inspection and labeling of the lightning protection system in accordance with UL 96A. In addition to the inspection of the new lightning protection systems identified in paragraph B above, this contractor shall have the existing lightning protection system on the Breeding Building inspected and labeled. The Breeding Building is a 11,920 GSF wood/steel framed structure with standing metal seam roof. 90 day period of performance. Magitude of project is less than $25,000. NAICS code is 423610.
