- *******This notice is hereby cancelled.******* The U.S Department of Homeland Security, National Acquisition Center, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed Price, Commercial type contract with Heckler and Koch, Ashburn Virginia in accordance with FAR Part 6.302. Multiple awards are not being sought. Requirement: 900 H&K Model 416 (14.5 barrel) 5.56 x 45mm carbines and 100 H&K Model 416 (10.4 Barrel) 5.56 x 45mm carbines. The H&K Model 416, is an M-4 variant, that is a short stroke piston operated select fire 5.56 x 45mm shoulder fired weapon and will be utilized by agents of CBP Office Border Patrol (OBP) and the Office of Air and Marine (A&M). This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Any firm that believes it can meet the requirements of this Notice must provide written notification to the Contracting Officer by Wednesday, August 22, 2007. A firm submitting information should provide supporting evidence in sufficient detail to demonstrate the capability providing a product equal to that listed above. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer at: richard.travis@dhs.gov. No telephone submission of information will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the Sole Source contract.
