- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a sole source purchase order to Hatch Mott McDonald to capture Lessons Learned on the use of earned value for measuring the status and health of the Alaskan Way Viaduct Project in Seattle, Washington. Hatch Mott McDonald is currently developing an Alaskan Way Viaduct Program Management Lessons Learned document for the Washington Department of Transportation. FHWA wants to expand upon the section of the document pertaining to Earned Value, to elaborate more on the learning curve that was used to implement an earned value system. What was used to monitor the early stages of the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Replacement Projects? development and what changes were made as it was being utilized. This task will support the FHWA major project teams effort to work the State Department of Transportation and Division offices to enhance stewardship and oversight of highway projects. It will also provide Congestion Mitigation and improve Safety, Mobility and Productivity. Hatch Mott McDonald is the only known source that can provide the required services as they are currently involved in the project. No other known source can provide the required service. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is on or about August 28, 2007.
