Description
1.The system must be programmable and capable of setting up PCRs, performing dilutions, parallel dilutions and replicating and reformatting plates. 2.The system must have 8-channels for pipetting and be capable of aspirating liquids from 8 wells (A1 ?A8) of up to six source plates in succession, with an air gap in between successive aspirations, and dispensing them in a target well using all 8-channels. 3.For dilutions, a single reagent drop can be used. Alternatively, dilution may also be carried out utilizing disposable tips with the 8-channel function. 4.The system must be capable of using use either 20uL or 200uL tips depending upon the volumes that need to be handled. The instrument must use standard, available plastic RNAse, DNAse free pipette tips. 5.The system must be capable of setting up PCR reactions. PCR protocols will be carried out with 8-channels and reagent boat (reservoir) with pre-made mastermix. Alternatively, one of the 8-channel syringes can be adapted for single-channel operation. If the single channel option is chosen, then 1000uL tips will be needed. We do not want a workstation whereby switching between 8 channel and one channel heads requires replacement/change of heads, since continual changes increases error and cost of hardware. 6.Must have a minimum of 12 deck positions. 7.The system must ship with PCR and plate dilution modules pre-programmed and pre-installed. 8.The system must have deck position for a Temperature Control Reagent Block. 9.The system must be upgradeable to accommodate plate moving functions. 10.The system must have a complete data station consisting of a standard computer with LCD monitor and appropriate software loaded on it, at no additional cost (PC card reader is not acceptable replacement). 11.One-year warranty and on-site maintenance.
