- The Uniformed Services University of the Health and Sciences (USUHS), Bethesda, MD intends to acquire on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 13.106-1 (b) with Tecniplast, to supply the two stainless steel complete racks model and accessories with Noryl waste trays. The accessories for the stainless steel racks include the noryl shallow cage body, stainless steel feeder, perforated raised shelf, 750ml makrolon bottle with silicone ring, stainless steel 30 degrees bent with two balls and a stainless steel vertical bottle holder. The two stainless steel complete racks models and accessories are requested to replace the existing cages for the housing of USUHS rabbits. Tecniplast is the sole distributor for Tecniplast products requested for sale to the federal government. Uniformed Services has a current requirement for perforated plastic type flooring to protect the rabbit?s feet, cages made out of steel wear and develop sharp edges that can perforate the rabbit's foot. Some of the unique features Tecniplast offers are: Tecniplast has the largest amount of square footage at 5.8 square feet for each individual cage. Perforated plastic type flooring that serves as a temperature insulator and distributes the pressure applied by the rabbit?s feet over a great surface area evenly. Multiple 2x1 units that can be attached to a divider between the cages to make one cage larger, which gives the ability for social housing. This is not a request for quotes and a solicitation package shall not be issued.
