Description
This is a sources sought synopsis announcement; a market survey for information only. This is not a solicitation for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this synopsis. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potentially qualified sources; please do not request a copy of a solicitation, as one does not exist at this time. Air Force Space Command at Schriever AFB, CO seeks potential sources capable of providing the following item: Simulsat Antenna Feed Peaking ? Digital Service Call/Tune-up: Includes a Field Technician, transportation and all equipment necessary for the tune-up (ATCi Simulsat Operation and Maintenance manual is attached for a further understanding of the service required). The anticipated delivery date is 30 Aug 07. Therefore, the Government is seeking interested firms to furnish the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact, telephone number and e-mail address. (2) Business size (if 8(a) provides proof of certification, etc) under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811213 Communication Equipment Repair and Maintenance. (3)Under which NAICS does your company usually provide supplies identified above? Please include the rationale for your answer. (4) Which of the following would you see as your role in the performance of this potential requirement? (a) Prime contractor; (b) Subcontractor; or (c) Other, and please describe. (5) Type of contract will be Firm-fixed price (FFP). (6) Provide no more than three (3) references for no more than three (3) of the most recent and relevant contracts performed within the last three (3) years. Include name, address, telephone number and e-mail address of references. Also, provide a brief description of the work performed, contract number, total contract value and period of performance. Contracts must be the same or similar to this requirement. (7) Please comment and make recommendations of the optimum length of the total contract performance period based on your experience with contracts of this nature. (AUG 2005) (a) An ombudsman has been appointed to hear and facilitate the resolution of concerns from offerors, potential offerors, and others for this acquisition. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The existence of the ombudsman does not affect the authority of the program manager, contracting officer, or source selection official. Further, the ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals, the source selection process, or the adjudication of protests or formal contract disputes. The ombudsman may refer the party to another official who can resolve the concern. (b) Before consulting with an ombudsman, interested parties must first address their concerns, issues, disagreements, and/or recommendations to the contracting officer for resolution. Consulting an ombudsman does not alter or postpone the timelines for any other processes (e.g., agency level bid protests, GAO bid protests, requests for debriefings, employee-employer actions, contests of OMB Circular A-76 competition performance decisions).
