Description
The FAA is seeking Viking Sprinkler System approved installers to perform upgrades to the existing Viking systems located at our Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Center, Oberlin, Ohio. The scope of work is to modify the existing Viking Firecycle fire suppression sprinkler systems (6 zones total - Zones 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 11) to comply with the current Viking Firecycle installation criteria and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 13. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following:Viking fire protection system modifications as identified in "Viking Fire Suppression System Modifications (Narrative), Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Center" dated May 2007.Modifications in accordance with specifications: Section 07840 - THROUGH PENETRATION FIRESTOP SYSTEMS, dated December 2005,Section 13850 - FIRE ALARM AND DETECTION SYSTEMS, dated December 2005, and Section 13900 - FIRE SUPPRESSION SPRINKLER SYSTEM, dated May 2007. The six (6) zones are located as follows: 1) Zone 4: Automation Wing Basement (AWB) 2) Zone 5: Automation Wing First Floor (AW1F) 3) Zone 7: CW1F DSR Control Room 4) Zone 8: Automation Wing Second Floor (AW2F) 5) Zone 9: Automation Wing Attic 6) Zone 11: Control Wing Attic Mechanical Room above DSR Control Room Note: When the project is complete, a Jacobs Engineering Representative must be invited on-site to witness the acceptance test. Offer range is between $100,000 and $250,000 with a performance time of approximately 60 calendar days. Construction start is anticipated for October/November 2007. Interested firms should submit a letter of interest to the above named Contracting Officer along a listing of similar projects comparable in complexity and dollar value performed over the last 5 year period. FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
