Description
Furnish all labor, equipment, materials and tools to cover the on-site requirements to accomplish the work as specified herein. Prior to submitting the cost proposal, the contractor must visit the site and become thoroughly familiar with all pertinent conditions that are included in the Scope of Work. (SCOPE OF WORK TO BE PICKED UP AT THE SITE VISIT) Failure to do so shall not relieve the bidder from the responsibility of properly estimating the difficulty or cost of successfully performing the work. Arrangements must be made with the Manager of Maintenance, Alan Beyer, @ 270-389-5319 or 389-5389 before visiting the site. BUILDING 1526 ROOF REPLACEMENT, The Building is 9110 Gross Square Feet. Furnish labor materials and equipment for complete tear off and install 25 year fiberglass dimensional shingles, 30# felt paper & aluminum roof starter. Seamless aluminum gutters and downspouts. Repair or replace the damaged and deteriorated sections of soffit and fascia. All debris to be hauled to an approved off center landfill. Decking repair up to 15% with photo documentation. All repairs in excess of 15% require prior approval. Colors and samples will be verified by Academy personnel before start of job. The Academy shall remain in operation throughout the construction. All construction activity shall be in coordination with the Academy in order to minimize disruption of Academy operations. The Contractor must include with his bid certification that he will conform to the latest Davis Bacon Rate (www.access.gpo.gov/davisbacon) decisions for the area. Prior to starting any work, the Contractor will submit to the Academy a performance bond for 100% of the contract, and payment bond for 50% of the full amount of the contract. The Contractor shall also be required to show proof of the required insurance, such as Builders Risk, Automobile, Liability, and Workers Compensation. The Contractor shall be required to (a) commence work under this contract within 14 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the Notice-to-Proceed, (b) prosecute the work diligently, and (c) complete the entire work, ready for use, not later than 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice-to-Proceed. The time stated for completion shall include final clean-up of the premises. If the Contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified in this contract, the Contractor shall pay Liquidated Damages, for each day of delay, the amount of $ 500 , paid directly to the Academy. The Academy will retain 10% of each progress payment made to the Contractor, to be placed in a Retention Account, and paid to the Contractor as a final request for payment, following the formal Contract Closeout. The Contractor shall be responsible for the security of materials stored on & off the site, as applicable. The Contractor shall be responsible for all cutting and patching incidental to the work described herein and shall bear the expense of redecorating, repair, or replacement due to damage caused because of his fault or error. The Contractor shall maintain a clean and safe work area throughout the period of construction. The Contractor shall secure the work area to ensure the protection of the Academy occupants whenever they can readily gain access to the work area. Clean-up and removal of all debris and refuse shall be on a daily basis. In addition, the General Contractor must secure the work area, preventing dust and dirt from entering and contaminating the habitable areas. Any and all damage to the interior or exterior of the facility caused in the performance of the work shall be repaired by this Contractor at no additional cost to the Academy. EARLE C.
