Description
The U.S. Coast Guard is setting aside this acquisition for Total Small Business concerns. The Coast Guard intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for dockside repairs to the USCGC KEY BISCAYNE (WPB- 1339) a 110 foot Patrol Boat, ?C? class at the vessels home pier. The performance period will be 21 days with a start date on or about November, 5 , 2007. The homeport of the vessel is 600 8th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about August 22, 2007 at http://www.fbo.gov/. The scope of the acquisition is to provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs to the USCGC KEY BISCAYNE (WPB- 1339) including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: Replace Aluminum Mast; Renew Insulation in Various Compartments; Renew Main Diesel Engine; Renew and Realign Reduction Gear Assembly; Renew Gray Water and Bilge Piping; Renew CO and XO Windows; Install Flush-Mounted Hatch Drains; and Forward Peak Hatch, and Renew Aft Steering Hatch. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a best value Request for Quotes (RFQ). Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings is available free of charge to contractors upon request not later than three (3) days from the solicitation issuance. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are no longer available in hardcopy.
