- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation, Notice of Intent. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Aperio Technologies, Inc., Vista, California for Scan Scope GL System for Digital Pathology. This system automatically load 120 glass slides, create complete digital slides, digital slides are 24-bit true color, with gigapixel resolution, instantly pan and zoom to any region and magnification while maintaining a macroscopic view of the entire specimen decode 2-D datamatrix barcodes and automatically associate with digital slide images, provide multi party access to local or remote digital slide databases. System includes: XT scanner w/20x/.75 plan Apo objective, mag changer, 120 slide autoloader, JPG/JPG 2000 compression, 3 minute scanning, 23? LCD monitor. One (1) spectrum scanner license with one seat for the following: digital slide studio spectrumweb viewer, spectrum information manager with ability to serve digital slides, remotely annotate and share digital slide conferencing. NIAID believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition, procedures, and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 339999 and the Standard Size is 500. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement.
