- This contract refers to a heritage resources survey of approximately 2650-2680 acres. It is located on the Coyote Range District along FR 103 north of Mesa Poleo Creek in T22N, R2E, Sections 4-9, 15-17 and 21 between the elevations of 8,000 and 8,500 ft. The project area is located on the USGS 7.5' R Arroyo del Agua and Gallina, NM quadrangle maps. Travel time from Espanola NM to the project area is approximately 1.75 hours, and from Cuba, NM travel time is approx. 1 hour. The project area consists of forest lands slated for future fuels treatment to reduce the potential of high severity, catastrophic fires. Both hand and machine thinning, and prescribed burn activities will be associated with project implementation. The area is located northwest of private land adjacent to Mesa Poleo Creek and is a continuation of projects previously called Mesa Poleo 1 and 2 located east of FR 103. *****NOTE: This solicitation will not be avialable electronically.
