Description
Multi-Purpose Fluid Bed System for Granulator Solicitation No. 2007-4431-018 The USDA, ARS, Mid South Area, intends to procure a Multi-Purpose Fluid Bed System equal to the Vector Corporation Model FL-M-3 Fluid Bed System. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 2007-4431-018 is being issued as an Invitation for Bid. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. Offerors are to provide a bid for the following: SPECIFICATIONS: Our application needs call for a versatile, small-medium capacity Fluid Bed System with the following minimum specifications: ? Combination 12 L product container ? Wurster Insert ? Availability of alternate processing inserts ? COMPLETE self contained unit with on board air handling, process control system, and all necessary hardware and auxiliary components for: o drying o coating o granulation o layering o encapsulation o hot melt processing ? Supply air assembly ? Exhaust blower assembly ? Cartridge filter chamber; reinforced polyester material ? Tower Pressure Tolerance: 10 Bar pressure shock resistant vessel ? Stainless steel 316; Interior finish: RA4 microinch and welds #8S mirror polish ? Integrated peristaltic pump system; variable speed; 10:1 turndown ? Push button controls ? MicroLogics Processor for Spay Time and Spray Sequencing ? Hot Melt System o 10 L solution tank with bottom feed. o Heated solution line o Temperature control of solution line o Heated Pump and pump head o Heated hot plate with temperature control o Sanitary solution line; electric heat jacket with interchangeable cores ? Spare Process Distribution Plates and screens?fine (~50 microns), medium and coarse ? Spare product container seals, spare cartridge filters, spare set of spray gun O-rings ? Training: Process and Equipment; 2 days minimum. ? Process Assistance post-training ? Air Temp Range: ambient - 100?aC ? Air Flow rating: 280 m3/hr (adjustable; digital display) ? Low airflow bypass ? Air heater interlock that permits spraying only when heater reaches set temperature ? Air Flow rating: 280 m3/hr (adjustable; digital display) ? Bid prices shall include all necessary labor, parts, materials, and transportation necessary to delivered FOB Destination a Multi-Purpose Fluid Bed System to USDA, ARS, 59 Lee Road., Stoneville, MS 38756. This contract incorporates one or more clauses by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text.
