- The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions received. Question. Is there a bid bond required? Answer. No. Question. What is the range? Answer. A bid bond is not required. Question. Is this a IFB or RFQ? Answer. Request For Quotation. Question. Are there drawings or specs available? Answer. No. As stated in the original synopsis a site visit may be coordinated with the Government Technical Point of Contact ,Mr. Terry Patterson, 256-313-7667. The Virginia Contracting Activity, on behalf of the Defense Intelligence Agency/ Missile and Space Intelligence Center (DIA/MSIC), Building 4545, Fowler Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898-5500 has a requirement to repair recurring leaks at the Atrium or main entrance for facility 4545 at the MSIC facility. The original manufacturer of the Atrium facility was Super Sky Products but was not involved in the actual construction. The original manufacturer shall be consulted to provide detailed shop drawings and repair parts before any work shall be performed. The contractor shall: A. Remove snap-on cap sand retainers, install new exterior gaskets, remove all old sealants, re-caulk all flush joints using Dow Corning's 795 silicone sealant, re-install retainers using new 1/4-20 torx screws, and repair or replace expando-flash as required. The contractor shall provide a five (5) year warranty against leakage. B. Remove all rubbish from the area daily at the completion of the work day. Dispose of all construction materials, and or scrap material at completion of project. C. Ensure all adjacent sidewalks and roadways are clean and free of all debris, dirt, mud, at all times, in order to maintain normal ingress/egress to the MSIC facilities. D. Take all precautions to protect vegetation in the work area and shall replace/repair damaged areas at completion of the project. E. Take every precaution to protect sidewalks and driveways from damage due to construction equipment and repair or replace damaged areas accordingly. F. Ensure handicap accessible ingress/egress is available during all periods of construction. G. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) Standards. The Government shall provide building escorts for un-cleared personnel as required. All work stated herein shall be performed at the MSIC, Building 4545, Fowler Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898-5500. Access to the grounds around the Atrium shall be through the service access gate, Facility number 4576, Monday through Friday, from 0600 until 1800. Period of performance shall be 90 days from date of award. If necessary site visits will be allowed but will be required to be coordinated with the Government Technical Point of Contact, Mr. Terry Patterson, 256-313-7667. The site visits must be set up and performed from 31 Jul 07 to 10 Aug 07. All responsible sources may submit a proposal to MSIC by FAX 256-313-7963 or email to Donna Tignor at tigor@msic.dia.mil.
