Description
STATEMENT OF WORK REMOVE AND INSTALL LABORATORY FUME HOODS The removal and installation of laboratory fume hoods will be performed at the Navy Drug Screening Laboratory, 320B B Street, Building 38-H, 3rd floor, Great Lakes, IL. The removal and installation of the hoods shall be in accordance with the requirements that follow. All work shall be completed in a workman-like manner and in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local codes and requirements. The contractor shall be responsible for all debris removal, off-site and ensure that the facilities are restored to their original conditions. REMOVAL 1. Contractor shall furnish all labor and materials to safely disconnect five (5) existing fume hoods. 2. Safely make all appropriate disconnects of ductwork, electrical, and cold water necessary to complete removal of existing hoods. 3. Take necessary steps and precautions (dust partition, etc) to contain and confine dust to work area to prevent contamination of other laboratory equipment. 4. The Contractor will coordinate with the Government Technical Representative to remove and install three (3) hoods on one Saturday/Sunday and activated. Remove and install two (2) hoods on a Saturday/Sunday, following activation of three previously installed hoods. NOTE: This contract does not include the removal, treatment, and disposal of any hairdos material. If hazardous material is detected, the Contractor shall stop work immediately and notify the Contracting Officer. INSTALLATION 1. Contractor shall furnish all labor and materials to install five (5) Government-furnished laboratory fume hoods. Hoods shall be installed in a professional workman-like manner to ensure the proper function of the hoods. 2. Government-furnished hoods are located in basement of Bldg 81-H. The Contractor shall be responsible for relocating hoods to installation site, approximately two (2) blocks. Freight elevators are available at both locations. 3. The Contractor shall install new hoods using existing ductwork and ensure that all previous disconnects are securely reconnected. 4. The contractor shall make preliminary and final air tests and balance hoods. 5. The contractor shall warrant all labor and workmanship for a minimum of one (1) year.
