- NEED: This action is for a product improvement development and qualification study of a new lot acceptance test that would reduce the number of parts needed to run tests on the M18 and M83 Grenade fuzes. This new test would delete the slug, cup and disc test. The Government intends to award a Sole Source Award to Combined Systems Inc (CSI). This company is the current producer of the M201A1 Fuze and is producing a proprietary Hand Grenade Fuze. The fuze requested by this SOW is the M201A1 except t hat the igniter fill will be adjusted in 5 varying amounts so that the output can be studied and the correct fill amount selected for future fuze production. The only contractor that can execute this program is CSI since they have the manufacturing equipm ent, experience, and components currently in place which can be used to manufacture these modified fuzes and will offer the best value to the government for this small program. FOB Destination: Picatinny Arsenal. U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC) inten ds to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed Price, small purchase contract on or about 21 September 2007. The quote will be for; a maximum quantity of 3,500 each a minimum quantity of 1,750 each. Required delivery schedule is 45 days after receipt of award. A ll contractors who provide goods/services to the Department of Defense (DoD) must be registered in the Central Contractors Register (CCR). If you are not registered in the CCR, you cannot be awarded a DoD contract. You may register via the internet at ht tp://www.ccr.gov.
