- The US Army Research Development Evaluation Command (RDECOM) Acquisition Center, Aberdeen, MD is soliciting concepts for innovative research and development projects for combating terrorism. The mission areas include Blast Effects and Mitigation; Che mical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Countermeasures; Concept Development; Explosives Detection; Improvised Explosive Device Defeat; Investigative Support and Forensics; Tactical Operations Support; Surveillance Collection and Operations Support and VIP Protection. The US Army RDECOM Acquisition Center is the procuring office for this Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the Combating Terrorism Technology Support Office, Technical Support Working Group (CTTSO/TSWG). The BAA package itself will be avai lable only from the following web site, www.bids.tswg.gov on 06 August 2007. The BAA process constitutes a solicitation of concepts from those offerors capable of satisfying the Governments needs. The Government encourages non-profit organizations, educati onal institutions, small businesses, small disadvantage businesses, Government laboratories, HBCU/MIs, foreign contractors as well as large businesses to submit research concepts for consideration. The BAA selection process will be conducted in three phase s. The BAA package describes the full process for the concept submission and evaluation as well as specific requirements for the missions area listed above. NOTE: Potential offerors are encouraged to download the BAA package from the BIDS web site beginni ng on or about 06 August 2007. Registration in BIDS is required for offerors to submit their responses directly in BIDS. Early registration is encouraged to ensure your account is functional and to confirm your access to the site.
