- Description
- The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, NPPTL, Pittsburgh, Pa requires sixty-five (65) OXY K Plus Self Contained Self-Rescuers for testing and evaluating, in the NIOSH Long-Term Field Evaluation. Since collected SCSR?s must be replaced with like kind, NPPTL must procure the same number and model of units that are taken from the mines. There are four models of SCSR?s in use in U.S. mines today. These include: the M-20 and EBA 6.5 that manufactured by Ocenco Inc.; the SR-100 that is manufactured by CSE Inc. and the OXY K Plus manufactured by Draeger Safety, Inc. This procurement for Ocenco 6.5 SCSR?s is one of four related procurements that will provide replacement M-20, EBA 6.5, SR100, OXY K Plus devices. No other product can replace this unit in this regard because NIOSH must replace units taken from mines that use the EBA 6.5 SCSR?s (as described above) with the same model. No other product will suffice. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within fifteen (15) days form posting date of this notice their capabilities statement and supporting information in the format they choose, not to exceed ten (10) pages. Information received in response to this notice will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received with fifteen (15) days, negotiations will be conducted with Draeger Safety Inc as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
