Description
The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, NPPTL, Pittsburgh, Pa requires consulting service for Develop and applies a theoretical and semi-empirical physical model. A. Mathematical model will be further refined to describe the adsorption of organic compounds in the presence of elevated relative humidities. An additional add on will be produced to describe the effects of intermittent usage. Software will be refined to simplify calculations and eliminate any errors that may currently exist. The contractor will work with NIOSH officials to support existing models. Description of Services: I. Multivapor Completion a. Adapt the Java web-based version of MultiVapor program to be downloadable for use on individual computers of various platforms, particularly Macintosh and Windows. this will require local computer server software specific to each platform and computer type. However, such software is readily available at little or no cost. This task will include directions on obtaining and installing such software. b. Continue support of MultiVapor Software, which may include: i. working with OSHA to help them make the various versions of MultiVapor the tutorials available on their web site. ii. Fixing any problems discovered in the software iii. Making minor improvements, as suggested from testing and use. iv. Presentations (formal or informal) of work at NIOSH, conferences, stakeholder meetings, etc. II. Multi Vapor Applications a. Apply to new data that becomes available to further verify the model, to identify its limitations, and to characterize cartridges and carbons i. from NIOSH studies (other than reuse studies mentioned below) ii. form publications or unpublished sources III. Support Existing Models a. Provide technical support for previously developed models on an as needed basis. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within fifteen (15) days form posting date of this notice their capabilities statement and supporting information in the format they choose, not to exceed ten (10) pages. If no affirmative responses are received with fifteen (15) days, negotiations will be conducted with Gerry O. Wood as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
